    Real world disk requirements

    new to zabbix...

Im looking for how to partition and setup for monitoring ~1200 hosts and about 100 things on each and storing for 90/365 days. It seems most storage is needed for mysql, correct? If I put that on it's own partition, is there a good way to estimate the the storage needs?

Very roughly, you are about 20% of our environment and our database is using 2.4Tb. It's pretty much a guess. Keep trends, not history. We use db partitions instead of housekeeping for history and trends, which I recommend.

Thanks, after some reading i decided to start with 300GB, but I suspect I'll need to expand to around 500GB.

History is biggest part of your DB. 90 days of history is probably bigger than 365 days of trends.. So think carefully, how much of history you actually need. And plan your checking... as often as needed, as rarely as possible..
