    Zabbix 2.2 to 3.0 Update in EPEL

    Hello,

    I am trying to find a way to update the EPEL repos with Zabbix 3.0 for RHEL/CENTOS 6. Currently the EPEL repo only has zabbix 2.2 in them and we really need 3.0. we are trying to use the engine the web proxy and the pg-database RPM's.

    My company has blocked access to download directly from zabbix and we are not allowed to install via local rpm. EPEL is allowed though.

    The currently EPEL Repo: http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/

    Thanks!

    Can't you add the zabbix repo ? And/or ask the network team to allow the zabbix repo url ?

      Nope

      We can not. We have a valid reason but I really cant explain it here.

          From the EPEL FAQ:

          I want to get a package into EPEL. What do I have to do?

          Get it into Fedora and tested by users for a while. Once it has been tested, it can be pushed to EPEL. In other words: create a package, propose the package for review via bugzilla, get it reviewed and approved, and import it into Fedora. After that, request an EPEL branch for your package.
          I'm not sure if just anybody can do this, or if the official zabbix maintainers have to do it.

            @guzzijason

            I have the same question. I don't think just anyone can post other peoples code in there and have it added to EPEL. If I could get permission to go down that path I would have no problem in doing it. But i don't want to step on zabbix's toes if they have a reason to not put it in there.
