Need some help on understanding state info

I went through some tests to see how well Zabbix sends out notifications on state change. Here's what I did:

Setup Disk Space Low <10 send out a warning - setup on about 10 hosts

I then changed the value to <90 to force an alert.

On one host, it does NOT give an alert although I can go to the Events page and see it there but the value is "off"

On another host, I can do the same thing, go to the Events and see it there with a value of "on" and I get the alert.

So my question is why is it not consistent among the hosts? Same trigger, different hosts but both hosts should have given an alert after changing the value to <90. Maybe somebody can explain to me why they both show an event but for some reason, one host has the "off" value (and never changes to "on") and one shows the "on" value. This is in version 1.4.4

Sorry.... my bad. That one particular host did indeed have very little disk space used and would have not triggered. Sorry for the wasted bandwidth!

Now I am going to revive this thread. I now have a host that has gone below the 10% threshold on disk space. Under events, it shows a blinking "TRUE" but I never received an alert. Why is this not working? I have actions set to send out an alert when trigger severity=warning and trigger severity=high. I can manually set a trigger to trip and I get an alert but when this disk space low trigger in real-time, I get nothing. Any ideas?

I am willing to bet that you don't have your action set up right.
Can you post more details on how you have your item, trigger, and action configured?

          Thanks for the reply!

          Here's what I have going:

Item: "Free disk space on $1 in %," "Zabbix Agent" and "vfs.fs.size[/,pfree]"

Trigger: "Base Disk Space Low," "{host:vfs.fs.size[/,pfree].last(0)}<10" and "Warning" as severity

Action: "Send Alert," "Trigger severity >= "Warning"" and "Send message to User "Admin""

Under Monitor->Overview, I can see the "Free disk space on / in %" below 10% and the box is yellow.

Under Monitor->Triggers, I can see the "Base Disk Space Low" with a status of TRUE and severity of "Warning"

Under Monitor->Events, I do NOT see anything related to "Base Disk Space Low"

And under Monitor->Actions, there is nothing.

I can manually trip a trigger and it gets as far as the events page but nothing in actions.

Sorry for the long delay; I was on vacation.

Have you got it fixed yet? If not, check that the email is configured properly. It sounds to me like it is not sending the email.
            Click on Administration->Users->Admin->Media.

Is media defined properly? How about the time and status?

I did get it working correctly. I didn't understand the state change correctly. After looking at it for hours, it clicked. Thanks!
