That steps are due to follow to update the version of the agent.

I have an agent linux 1.1.4 and I want to pass it to 1.4.

which linux distribution are you using?
I've made a zabbix client install/update script which does all neccesary steps to install on a fresh system or update the client (no database update will be done).
It was written on Fedora Core 2 and tested on centos 5, but should work at least on all recent Redhat Systems.
As i'm doing some finetuning right now just message me if you're interested, then i'll let you know first when it's released!

I haven't tested the script on a debian system.
If you'd like to test it, that would be fine (don't know if you can get through my code ). I have a german and english version, both are commented.

Of course you can use the script as a step-by-step tuorial, too.
