    No alerts in Monitoring->Actions

    Hi,

    I created an action and I have no alerts in Monitoring->Actions, no errors in zabbix_server.log. I don't know how to do, is it a bug or a bad configuration ?*

    Please help me to understand.
    Thanks,
    Fatiha

    Did you configure the user to recieve an alert?
    Administration -> Users -> User -> Media needs to be defined.

      Check the history of the Trigger. Has it changed to true? When I'm not getting an alert I always check the trigger first, is it working? If that's working then I check the action, is it configured right? After that I check the email setup, do I have that configured correctly. If all that fails I usually work on creating a new hole in the wall with my head then post something to the forums... after I check all three spots one last time... but now with a headache, and new holes in the wall... ;-)

      Oh to extend on what cstackpole said, when you're setting up the emails the alert level is important. If you setup the email to be High and Disaster only that user will not receive alerts that are generated from a trigger with a level of "Information".

        It works now

        First, like you said, I checked triggers and it worked, then I checked alerts and I saw nothing. It was due to a script sql that I launched in order to decrease mysql size. I forgot some tables like events and alerts, so there was not compatibility or link between alertid/eventid in ids table and in events/alerts tables. It was my mistake, it's not a bug.

        And, yes, we defined medias but not correctly. We are using a distributed monitoring and mails in the different nodes didn't work. In central server, it works. The problems wasn't so simple because mails are sent by central server, we had bugs like : "relay access denied". We corrected that problem, mails have been received by different nodes and relayed to central server which sent those mails. So in the web interface in smtp server we have central server and in system configuration, we have one postfix in the central server and three relays in different nodes.

        Si in conclusion, it works now but due to the correction of two problems : sql and mails.

        Thanks,
        ps : it's fantastic to see mails sent correctly, I'm so happy!!
