    hi,
try from ur zabbix server :
    # telnet 10.0.2.188 10050
if it answers, then enter : agent.version

If it does not answer, is it possible to ping the server ?
U can change the debug level on the agent configuration to 5, restart the agent and then retry the telnet.

so the connection is clearly not possible to ur agent...

        is the ping possible ?
the network routes are ok ?

increase the debug level on ur agent and restart it.
sometimes it is caused if the ip of the zabbix server is not itself but a router that is not authorized in the agent config.

Have you checked that the firewall is turned off on the agent machine or at the very least there are holes in to allow communication from your server on port 10050?

On the linux server that it wont connect to try doing the following

            iptables -I FORWARD -p tcp --dport 10050 -j ACCEPT
            iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 10050 -j ACCEPT

This resolved my issue as the server I wanted to monitor had IPTABLES enforcing
