Agent crashed

Hello,

I am running 1.4.4 and every once in a while, a zabbix agent may crash. The server see it as "Not Monitored" under conf > hosts and the last data the server gets from that agent is "frozen" under "latest data"

The problem is that I never get an alert so I never know that the agent is down. Is there a way to fix this so I get alerts when this happens?

Hi there danomanno,

You can use a Agent Ping to see if your agent is still working if not then trigger a action.

Item : Zabbix Agent : agent.ping

I did have this already in items and in triggers. It failed to see this and on more than one occasion.

I have used this for over a year now and it works great.

So you are doing something else wrong then.

Thanks! That worked.

I had my trigger setup wrong. I needed this: agent.ping.nodata(1800)}=1

The nodata is what I was missing.
