what are exactly the trends?

i see nowhere an exact definition of the trends

if I understood, it is the average of all the values collected during one hour.
After "keep history" days, the exact values are erased by the housekeeper to avoid gigantic databases. But trends are kept longer to have an history.

can anyone confirm or correct me?

Confirmed! The trends contains not only 15min AVG, but also MIN, MAX and COUNT.

ZABBIX takes data from trends if graph period is more than 7 (if I remember correctly) hours.
