I have zabbix running on a machine and am trying to monitor port 10050 on a remote machine, using the machine's DNS name. However Zabbix returns an error [cannot resolve "hostname"].
My config is DNS name "blah"
IP adress x.x.x.x
Monitor: DNS
So I think I need a DNS entry for this host. Am I correct? If so do I need to set DNS up on the zabbix server, or can zabbix talk to my DNS server to resolve the name to IP?
