Read from slave and write to master mysql

    Greetings:

I realize there are issues with doing such things given the nature of the application but, the question has been asked of me and I don't know so here goes (yes, I searched, no luck):

Is there an existing configuration option anywhere that would allow my ZABBIX server to read from a MySQL slave and write to the master? In our case the replication is quite fast so there's not much concern about lag.

Would the development team consider such a thing? Other ends to the same basic means would be just as good.

They would need to go through their code and split up the reads/writes.

Alternatively you could look into using MySQL Proxy which can split reads and writes for you with no changes to the code.
