Windows Service

Guys.

Ok i am plugging away and i now have Zabbix up and running and sort of have it sending me emails which is good.

I am having abit of a hard time with monitoring a windows service.

When the windows Service is stopped on my map i get the ok under the icon but when it is started my map appears as down. Its like i have something the wrong way round?

Can anyone please shine some light on what i have done wrong

Hi guys. this is really doing my head in. grrrrrrrrr

Would it be possible for someone to give me a step by step instructions for setting up an item, then the trigger for any windows service.

I just want to detect when it is up or down and send an email to say service down and then service back up.

I dont know what the hell i am doing but everything feels back to front.

I love the interface of zabbix from coming from Nagios but at the moment things feel so much easier to configure in Nagios

I just need to get my base monitoring done such services, disk space , memory , ping etc etc.

Hi guys.

Its ok i have worked it out.

The following trigger expression will detect if the service is up or down.

{lnwsus01.withers.net:service_state[ewdgs].last(0)}=6


Just need to get my email sorted out
