Simple Ping

Hi guys.

I need to setup just a simple ping. At the moment all it will be pinging will be Cisco Switch's and Routers.

The key i am using is icmpping as these devices dont have the agent installed.

Does anyone have any step by step guides. I am using 1.4.6 at the moment. I have copied something from the Cisco template but it is returning my device as down when it is up.

Grab the latest manual PDF from here: http://www.zabbix.com/documentation.php
Then take a look at the section: 5.12.5.2.ICMP pings on page 150

That will get you setup with fping. After that, just setup an item with a simple check (Configurations->Items->Create Items->'Type' drop down select "Simple checks"->'Key' click the select button and in the popup window select icmpping). Fill out the rest of the item how you want and you should be ready!
