Windows 2008 active checks?

Hi,
I've recently gotten several windows 2008 servers to monitor. I've been using zabbix with no problem on windows 2003. Now with 2008 I have to turn all my zabbix agent checks to active checks for them to work. Is there a reason for this? Is there some configuration I need to change on the windows box or the zabbix server?

I'm monitoring 1 windows 2008 64bit server. Unfortunately I've always used active checks, never passive.

I appreciate your help infinity. It seems a little more familiarity with Windows 2008 is in order. Windows 2008 firewall is more like ISA. And a red screen doesn't mean off or bad always, just "not" what microsoft wants. So User error.... I'm demoting myself... ;-)
