    NetApp Filer Trigger Help

    Hi Guys.

Ok i have set up the trigger for a simple ping which is fine and is working.

I would like to setup a trigger for the Global Status Message but i just dont know what i need to select in order for this to work.

Can someone please help me with setting this up.

Also whats the best item and trigger to use to monitor disk space in the filer?

    Thanks in advance

        Hi

Which model of NetApp you have and try to monitor?
There are no possibility to get disk space usage information from NetApp filer.
You need to mount partitions on some linux box and monitor these mounted partitions.

You can monitor volume usage through snmp. Zabbix 1.6 makes this easier due to the new dynamic snmp thingy.

If you want to monitor the global status message, create a snmp(v2/v3 depending on what you are using) item.
          OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.789.1.2.2.25.0
Key: netapp.global.statusmessage (or whatever you like, as long as its a unique item string)
          Type: Character

Triggers on this can be created using a string comparison function.
