Alerts via qpager or other dialup messaging

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had managed to add a way to get alerts to be sent to pagers via qpager or something similar into Zabbix?

Most alerts will be sent fine via email, but problems arise when the mail server or the network connectivity is down, which we definately want to be alerted about.

I know that currently media only lists email, but maybe someone has made a patch or a hack to enable this?

You can set up SMS alerts via zabbix.

Click configuration > General and select "Media Types" from the drop down list.

Then click the "Create Media Type" button

Give it a description like "SMS Alert"

Change the type to SMS

and then tell it which device to use (Defaults to: /dev/ttyS0)

handy if your internet connectivity goes down. Hope that helps
