    Zabbix Proxy for Windows

Is it possible to run the Zabbix Proxy process under Windows? I mostly monitor Windows based servers and so would like to run the Proxy Process on a single Windows Server to gather data from a network and then send the data back to the Zabbix Server.

      Monitoring remote networks

Has anyone got any idea of when we may get a Zabbix Proxy that runs under Windows?
Without a proxy, how do we monitor networks that are not connected to the same network as the Zabbix server?

It can be implemented as soon as find one or several organizations to sponsor development of Windows port. Beware, the development work will be quite expensive!

          Hi jvella

although I would like to run a Windows Proxy, you can simply open the
firewall to allow connections to the agents (listening per default on port 10050)
from the server and from the agents to the server (listens per default on port
          10051).

For just a few servers to monitor and if security is not very strict
          this should be possible.

          Hope this helps

          Norbert.

Alternatively ZABBIX Proxy running in a virtual environment (VirtualPC, VMWare, XEN, whatever) under Window platform can be used. Proxy does not require serious CPU/memory/disk resources. It is relatively light process.

Thanks. I suspect a mixture of the two options should work ok.

              1. Open ports through the firewall for smaller sites and
              2. Run the Zabbix Proxy in a virtual environment for a larger site

              Thanks.

Using the new Windows Subsystem for Linux feature you can install a zabbix server or a proxy on windows 2019 or Windows 10 easily. I have created an installation guide for zabbix proxies. How to install Zabbix Proxy on Windows
