    Opensuse 11

    i install zabbix on a fresh opensuse 11, nothing works
    - no /etc/zabbix
    - no server install

    i get the massage -> make install, ok.
    have somebody install on opensuse ??

    OpenSuSE is the distro of choice for me, I haven't had any major issues with it.

    The /etc/zabbix directory you'll have to create yourself. Which directory are you looking for for the binaries?

      i dont understand, /usr/local/bin, /usr/local/lib, are emty.
      But "make install" was run normal.
      Under the local_install_zabbix_dir/src/zabbix_server are compiled Files e.g"zabbix_server"

      - or is opensuse need a "--prefix" but witch

        i think, i save my time and look for a other Product.
        the installation / documentation is not usefull

          Good luck, but I think you're giving up too quickly.

          Check /usr/local/sbin

          Yes the docs can be a challenge, but they have improved greatly. The install portion of the docs is written quite well and is pretty straight forward, I would suggest reading through it once first before you read through it while installing.

          Zabbix is a great product and it runs fantastic under SuSE. If you're frustrated might I suggest stepping away from it for a short while. There is also an IRC channel #zabbix on freenode where you can ask your questions.

            I have running on Suse 10.3 a productive system and on 11 a test system.

            Problems I had to compile on 11 a 64 bit version, but I did not looked
            deeper in that.
