Exporting data via REST

Hi,

I've got an item:

http://zabbix.ourdomain.com/history.php?itemid=22993&from=0&period=3600&action=showlatest

Is there any way that I can simply extract the latest value via a REST type request? eg

http://zabbix.ourdomain.com/history.php?itemid=22993&action=export&format=csv&quantity=1
