I'm trying to create a screen to show the status for each server that we are monitoring. How can I filter to show events and triggers for a specific host instead of a whole group on a screen?
I don't know if this is what you want to do, but a slightly cumbersome workaround I've used in the past was to create a group for each server I wanted a separate screen for, and have only the single server as a group member so that I could add an overview to the screen for just that server.
I did that in the past but don't have a screen set up that way currently. I'm using a different screen for host sets grouped by location or function and have them grouped such that I can include an overview for the appropriate group on each screen.
If you don't want an overview and only want an icon that indicates server status, I've created maps using the small host icons in a tight grid. When a host has any triggers "on", the icon goes large, making it easy to see at a glance which hosts have current issues.
Thanks for the ideas. Maybe I'll try to group by function.
I also like your idea about the map for a quick overview. I didn't really see that host/service high-level overview at-a-glance screen (like Nagios) while doing initial configuration.
