Macro usage in items

I know there has been some discussion on this in the past, but has there been a solution? I would like to be able to create a command as follows:

cmd[script_name.sh {HOSTNAME}]

And have the {HOSTNAME} translated correctly. Any ideas?

It is very likely that support of the macro for item keys will be introduced in 1.6.1 soon.
