    Screens

I have managed to get Zabbix server installed and setup up one client on a Sun machine in my network. I've also managed to get a graph showing memory usage etc.
The thing I don't understand is screens. What are they and what are they used for? What do they do and how do I set then up?
Do they allow you to remotely watch the other persons (clients) screen and see what they are doing there?

Screens allow you to display several sources of data (map, graph, simple graph, or data straight from an item in plain text). It's basically a way to have a single page with lots of varied information. I set up a screen that guests are set to when they log in that gives an otherview of our network's current status.

To set up a screen, you have to define one via Configuration -> Screens by giving it a name, and deciding how many items you are going to show. Each item has a box where you can put in a source of data (those mentioned above). Newer versions of Zabbix allow column spanning, so an item can take up several boxes in a row.

Once you've defined your screen, you can see it via View -> Screens and choosing your screen from the pulldown bar.

Oh! wouldn't it have been better if they were named something else other than screens.
I mean the term is very misleading.
Thanks for the info though, I managed to configure a "screen" now.
