Different Actions for Different Discovery Rules

Different Actions for Different Discovery Rules

    cant find a solution

Actions seem to be just generic for the overall discovery of new host

i cant apply a a template a group and add to hosts for different discovery rules from different sites

    discovery site #1
    name: dis1
    discovered by Proxy: proxy1
    ip range: 192.168.1.1-255
    checks: SNMPv2

    action - for site #1
    conditions:
    name - auto discovery - site1
    service - snmp
    discovery status - up
    received value - cisco

    opertaions:
    add host
    add to group : site1
    link to template: temp_site1

    discovery site#2
    name: dis2
    discovered by proxy: proxy2
    ip range: 192.168.1.1-255
    checks: SNMPv2

    action - for site #2
    conditions:
    name - auto discovery - site2
    service - snmp
    discovery status - up
    received value - cisco

    opertaions:
    add host
    add to group : site2
    link to template: temp_site2

so what your seeing is different templates and groups for different discoveries of different sites

it would be nice to have a condition that links a actions to a discovery rule

    Thanks Sol

I know this can be achieved on the device side by giving the device a specific string for just that site and then pulling that string to identify within zabbix which site it is with a action.

but damn that's a whole lot of changes to be made to a huge network.

is there any other solution to this that I'm missing in zabbix for discoveries

Do both your sites have the same IP Range?
If they don't you can use the "Host IP" Condition (page 85 in Manual 1.6 rev 16)

          Hi all

I'm actually facing the same problem :

          - I have multiple proxies dispatched trough different sites, and I'm trying to build Actions (based on discovery events) that would take effect for a secific proxy.

But so far, I've been unable to accomplish that (as I don't know how to identify the proxy in the Action pane).

          Any help appreciated

            Request

I have the same Problem: I want to assign different templates to different systems based on their smnp features. The OIDs i check all return an index value (0,1,2) but i have no possibility to see where the value comes from.

REQUEST: A new condition for discovery-actions to select the discovery rule or the exact snmp-oid which caused the action.

Or any other solution - I dont want to write another script to do this!
