How to install Zabbix version 1.6.1 in Fedora Core 7 Linux

I've spent the past 48 hours trying to install this piece of software on Fedora
Core 7 without much success. I am not an expert in Linux but I know enough
to navigate around.

Can someone help me with a step-by-step instructions on how to install,
configure, and get it started work on any kind of Linux platforms?

From what I've read so far, this is an excellent product but the instructions
on how to install, configure and get it working is very difficult and confusing.

Can someone help me get started with this project? I will be very grateful for
this.
