SNMP Traps

I'm trying to follow this

to setup SNMP traps. Zabbix 1.4.6 on Debian Etch.

I'm stumped at the part that says copy to snmptrap.pl script to the Zabbix installation directory. I'm not sure where that is (I didn't set this box up).

It says put it in <install directory>/bin but I don't have a zabbix dir with a bin directory.

The daemon is run from /usr/share/zabbix and configs are in /etc/zabbix ... would it go in either of those directories?

That doesn't define the "install directory", that is simply a link to the perl script.

The only "bin" directory that is created is under the source directory looking something like this - /home/zabbix/zabbix-1.6.1/bin and I don't believe that is considered the install directory.

I would suspect that he manually created a bin directory probably off of /etc/zabbix/

Hi mehlert. I am only guessing at that. I don't know.

Like you, I have been trying to get that working but am stuck at about the same spot.
