    Configure Zabbix Proxy

    Hi All

    i am facing problem to configure Zabbix Proxy

    My eg:
    Local Network
    10.200.2.x -> all local servers
    10.200.2.182 -> Zabbix Server

    from 10.200.2.x to Zabbix Server no issues working fine

    Remote Network
    10.4.122.70 -> Zabbix proxy and agent running
    10.4.122.x -> all the servers

    Zabbix proxy connects to Zabbix Server with out any problem
    From proxy to server 'telnet 10.200.2.182 10051' working fine no problem
    From server to proxy 'telnet 10.4.122.70 10051' working fine no problem

    Connectivity between Local and Remote Network is as below.
    Local Network -> firewall -> router -> --Lease Line (512kbps)-- -> router -> firewall -> remote network

    Configuration of Zabbix Server:
    1) Configuration -> Hosts -> Create Host(selected host)
    Name = Proxy
    New group = Proxy
    IP address = 10.4.122.70 //(Zabbix Proxy Server)
    Connect to = select ip address from the list
    Port = 10051
    Monitored by Proxy = (no proxy)
    Status = Monitored

    and then save

    2) Configuration -> Hosts -> Create Proxy(proxies)
    Proxy name = Zabbix proxy
    Hosts = ?

    No my question is where do i specify the ip and the port of the proxy server?

    do i have to select from the Other Hosts list ?
    if yes then where do i specify that the agent should be monitored by the proxy?

    Oh yes from Configuration of Zabbix Server Point 1) Monitored by Proxy = (no proxy)?
    if that is the option the after adding it there and when i go back to Configuration -> Hosts -> and select proxy from the drop down list i get the list of added proxy servers

    then i select Zabbix Proxy which i added early and in the Host select box i can see Zabbix Proxy server and also the host for which i said Monitored by Proxy = Zabbix proxy

    Is this the normal way?

    Can some one explain me how is the work of Zabbix Server and Zabbix Proxy i mean the configuration.

    I have added as per i said above but no luck for me i need help.

    i get the following error under Configuration -> Hosts

    Name: Zabbix Proxy:Marketing Apps
    Dns: -
    IP: 10.4.122.8
    Port: 10050
    Template: Template_MKT
    Status: Monitored
    Availability: Not available
    Error: Cannot connect to [10.4.122.8:10050] [Interrupted system call]
    Action: Select

    If i monitor the above server with out proxy i have no problem

    Please i need help

    You don't have to specify proxy IP address anywhere. ZABBIX server never connects to a proxy, the proxy connects to the server! Always.

    So, if your proxy can connect to the server then everything is fine. Just make sure that the proxy name (Hostname=Proxy name in zabbix_proxy.conf) matches the name defined in the GUI.

      In zabbix_proxy.conf it was Hostname=proxy
      in GU it was Proxy changed to proxy
      should case matters?

      under
      Configuration -> Host -> Host(selection)
      -> Group (Proxy)
      i have this
      Name: Zabbix Proxyroxy
      DNS: -
      IP: 10.4.122.70
      Templates: -
      Status: Monitored
      Availability: Unknown
      Error: -
      Actions: Select

      but still no luck

      error:
      Cannot connect to [10.4.122.8:10050] [Interrupted system call]

      From zabbix proxy

      telnet 10.200.2.182 10051
      Trying 10.200.2.182...
      Connected to 10.200.2.182 (10.200.2.182).

        Yes, the name is case-sensitive.
