alarm table record value question

I was reviewing the alarm table layout and I'm curious what causes "2" (trigger became UNKNOWN) to be placed into the value field of a record.

I going to be creating a query to summarize triggers events per item by time frame and wasn't quite sure how tio interpet records with "2" as a value.
