How do I check MYSQL DB patch installed?

I am upgrading from 1.4.X to 1.6 and ran the command:
$ cat patch.sql |mysql zabbix -u <> -p <>
from the SQL upgrade directory

I don't see any indication that it installed.

How do I check it?

Command error

I am on Ubuntu and for what ever reason the -p <password> can not be passed.

Therefore:
$ cat patch.sql |mysql zabbix -u <> -p (hit enter)
Enter Password:

$

This took a few minutes to return to the prompt so it did something but it would be nice to check.
