zabbix proxy protocol ?

alexi can you explaine the zabbix proxy protocol ?

i'm interested on it to developpe jmx/ldap(...) gateway (like zapcat that use agentprotocol) like as zabbix proxy...
to manage many host/application/procole though one or many zabbix proxy!

i readed the proxy code... and i seen the you use json to exchange question and answer...
but i've difficulty to determine the exact structure of the json block echanged...
and all the life cycle between the zabbix server and the zabbix proxy...

Any update on this ? We are looking at doing some special remote proxies for distributed web monitoring, and it'd be great to use the protocol to get config items and send data back. I see the agent & sender protocols (seem older) listed in the manual, but not the proxy.
