template and triggers - old hat I know

Having a problem . I know this has ben discussed multiple times on the forum but one more try. Yes I understadn in Zabbix 1.6 that I'm at (only one I have used since I'm new to this.). Set up hosts, set up groups. Set up template just tot track no agent devices and use a ping. Add hosts to maps to I can see them visually. Maps work correctly change to red when down etc..

Ok now ready to make my boss happy by sending emails when down. Used a test device I made up in one of the groups to validate trigger and action work and then send email. Works fine. Now I want it to work for all devices that go with that template. I enable email in userid so they go out and sit back and watch. The trigger goes off for each and every device logically associated with the template, but no action sends an email. Only for that test device I first tested with.

Looked to see if I set trigger just for my test device, no it show the template name not the device name. What is the scoop am I missing something basic. I think I understand the previous posts here but I can see nothing that prevents the notification. Trigger fires and the action statement checks for trigger name and that it is a "PROBLEM" .

Please respond quickly!! I can send more detail if you like. I'm hoping I'm missing something basic. But looks like I have it right..

check action conditions. those most likely are limiting the scope of the action to that single host.

Yes I looked at that and reviewed item, trigger, action. Host is not listed there.

Also the trigger fires, I can see this when I monitor triggers. It just does not kick off the action to do the email. If it did not show up as a active trigger for the other hosts when they go offline I would look elsewhere. I look at dashboard and the other hosts in the same template show up there as active triggers when they go offline. They just show no action. There is no logic in the action other than trigger name and problem. Give me a place to send screen shots and I'll show you . Something else is going on!!

      Here is the trigger statement

you could check what actions are logged at administration -> audit -> audit actions.
i don't think trigger expression is the problem if you see trigger firing up.

could you try replacing trigger name condition on the action with hostgroup condition ?
