Which agent for RHEL AS 2.1 ?

Will the pre-compiled agent Linux 2.4.x work on RHEL 2.1 or do we need to do a compile?

    Thanks in advance.

Depends on a few things. Run the following:

    >rpm -qa | grep glibc
    >cat /etc/redhat-release
    >uname -a

Feel free to sensor the hostname as appropriate, it's not important.

      Hi Andrew -

      here's the results:

[root]# rpm -qa | grep glibc
      glibc-common-2.2.4-32.25
      glibc-2.2.4-32.25
      glibc-devel-2.2.4-32.25

      [root]# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Linux Advanced Server release 2.1AS (Pensacola)

      [root]# uname -a
      Linux server 2.4.9-e.71enterprise #1 SMP Thu Nov 23 11:44:38 EST 2006 i686 unknown

Grrr that does not help as much as I thought. My guess is that a RHEL 3 binary would work. RHEL 5 if memory serves me right is glibc 2.4.x and RHEL 4 is Glibc 2.3.x.

Hope this helps get you closer. :-)

          Appreciate the help.

We'll try the 2.4.x precompiled agent. If that doesn't work, we'll compile.
