agent via proxy: availability: unknown

why is it, that an zabbix agent that is monitored via some zabbbix poxy shows "availablitly: unknown" while i still get latest data from it.

is that as intended or am i doing somethingwrong?

Availability is an column in the hosts table. Proxy updates do not update this column. (With distributed node updates its even worse).
This could be fixed in the future (i hope).

I would recommend to always ignore the host availability. It is calculate for Zabbix agent and SNMP checks only and can be extremely misleading if external, active or any other checks are used.
