    Application

    Hello to all
I have been reading the manual of zabbix to verify which is the utility of the concept applicacion, I explain:
I know that an application is a set of items that can belong to different hosts but, the question is: does it serve for something more that to organize the items?
I Would be grateful very much that you were putting some real example of utilization.

    Thanks.

Currently application is just a set of items. It is used to organized the items, also application can be used for notification conditions, for example, for sending alerts for MySQL related problems only.

Would it be possible to make application a global list instead of a list per template/host?
IMHO this makes more sense then per template/host.

With a lot of templated items, linkage, custom checks etc, it is getting more difficult to keep the names in sync.
Specially when using application as action condition.

just remove the check on linkage

I have some linkage problems when linking templates where formerly applications where added, that even not exists anymore.

Imo the easiest would be to keep application as is in host/templates but do not check for existing on linkage, I dont see any sense either havent found a explanation why they cant overlap in forum.

          make Applications global pls

I agree w/ xs-, I didn't realize this was template/host specific and was suddenly mildly confused as I was creating templates for a small system and they weren't there and I had to manually match the names.
