What kind of host should I create if I just want to use simple checks

What kind of host should I create if I just want to use simple checks? For example, what should I fill in in the DNS name field and the IP address field if I just want to ping a website to see if it is online?

If you use the website by name, put it's name in. If you use the website by IP [for example, if you're on a small network with no local DNS and the 'website' is a router you're trying to monitor], put in the IP address.

Ah, looks like we were having some network related problems (not zabbix) :-p could not ping the internal network, but we fixed it.
