    Export/import question

I am running Zabbix on a temporary box now doing a demo, can I use export/import to take my setup to a new server without having to set up all the hosts/triggers/actions etc. that I have set up now? I'd hate to have to start the configuration all over, but if I can set up a new version of Zabbix and do an import on the new box that would be perfect. Does the export/import work that way?

    Thanks,
    Kerry

I have tested the import/export and it looks like it does everything but the actions, is there a way to save those? Or is there an easy way to back up the whole database? I haven't worked with MySQL much but I assume I can stop the database then just copy it, will that get everything better than doing an export?

    Thanks,
    Kerry

If you can afford to take the DB and Zabbix offline [sounds like you can as it's only a demo system], then yes, a DB dump/restore is the best way to do it.

Ok, thanks, that's what I needed to know. Yes, this is a demo system but if I can get things set up now and save the data to restore to my new server it will save a lot of time.

        Thanks for your help!
