Database Help Please

1. I am new to Zabbix and most open source programs. Just wanted to get that out of the way.

The company I started with has a current Zabbix 1.4 server running on a very very old server. I have created and successfully installed my first Zabbix 1.6 sever with little or no problems.

How can I get my current 1.4 data from the old server moved over to the new 1.6 server? I am trying to read how to's and other items but nothing talks about moving a database from an old server to a new one.

The high level procedure

Old server:
mysql dump the db
(mysqldump mydb > mydbbackup.sql)
push the dump to the new server (scp or some other means)

New server:
Import the Mysql db
(cat mydbbackupl.sql | mysql mydb)
Perform normal Zabix upgrade procedure.

Test this one or two times first before making your deployment migration.

As nelsonab said, the process is more of an upgrade from 1.4 to 1.6 than a fresh 1.6 database followed by an import of previous 1.4 data.

Thanks. Database moved and everything is running. Except for a few things.. permissions on all my users who have access to Zabbix. The only way they can see anything is if I assign them super admin rights...
