Agent on SunOS 5.10

where can i find a step-by-step on how to get an agent built and running in SunOS 5.10? ive got these 2 solaris boxes that i dont know anything about, but the monitoring team wants an agent on there asap. (altho i do know all about linux and BSD)

one box i can get root on, one box, no one knows the root passwd (and its one of those things that it doesnt get rebooted unless theres a damn good reason). i know i can build the agent to run as root, but can i build it to run as some other user as well?

any help would be appreciated greatly. thanks!

By the way. Zabbix still does not compile on OpenSolaris:

On OS still is available only older net-snmp (5.0.9). IF I remember correctly the same version still is inSolaris 10 GA (update 6).

You can always install freshen net-snmp but I'm talking about using zabbix against net-snmp from distribution.

Quoting this, as I cannot get 1.6.4 compiled on Solaris 10. I have reported a bug on this.

When can we expect a precompiled 1.6.4 agent for Solaris 10 ?
