I am using the battery backup template to try to monitor an APC UPS we have here. I have installed the template and I have got it working (sort of) so that the overview page is showing green for the things it is monitoring for that host. However, when I unplugged the UPS for a couple of minutes to test, the loss of input power one stayed green instead of triggering the alarm. Everything is activated and it says it's up and monitoring it, it has the right SNMP information for the device....does anyone have a clue what I might be missing so that it goes red when I unplug the device?

I also added another one to this template to use a simple check with 'icmpping' and it shows green but then if you unplug the network cable it just goes gray instead of red for the disaster. I understand why the first two go gray because they are using snmp so it can't get in contact with the UPS to check with the snmp, but if you unplug the network cable and you're using icmpping shouldn't it go red right away because the ping will fail? -

okay, I changed the function to use {t_APCBattery:icmpping.prev(0)}<1 instead of the {t_APCBattery:icmpping.last(0)}<1 and it started working.
The only thing I need to get working is the failure of the input power. I looked to see what function it was using and it was: upsBasicBatteryStatus (which is not in my list when i click 'insert') so that's probably why. I just need to find out how to write that function so it will start working.
