last value truncating

Hello,

This is kind of annoying so hopefully it's a configuration option somewhere. In the Latest values screen of the GUI, the latest value just has "..." in it. You have to click the History link to see the values. They aren't very long. I have seen where values are truncated to 255 characters but the values I am seeing are very short. Here's the longest one of the SNMP item I am receiving:

"Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5310 @ 1.60GHz Stepping 7"


Any ideas how to get these values to show up?

I noticed this as well on SNMP values that were that were getting stored as type "Text" . Changing the type to "Character" allowed the values to show up in the latest values screen. Not sure what the expected behavior is for Text items on the latest values screen.

Oh good work. That did it. It still truncates at 20 characters. Is this configurable or is this a strict setting handed down from the DB schema?

The "last_value" field of table items can contain up to 255 characters.

last_value is truncated on display by the web UI.

See function format_lastvalue() in frontend/php/include/items.inc.php

This is exactly what I needed. Thank you! This should probably be a configuration item. A lot of people these days have so much screen real estate it's crazy.
