jabber hung thru zabbix

Got jabber messages for a couple days then nothing.

Played with many things but resolution was recycling Zabbix(per review of this forum - thank you all). I'm not saying original cause is zabbix but is there a way to jumpstart this function in zabbix without having to restart zabbix?

This seems a common problem. I found several threads about this issue. I also have this kind of problem, really annoying.
