Email in Zabbix

Hello All,

I am a newbie at Zabbix so please bare with me. I have set up e-mail notifiactions for some triggers and I am not recieving any e-mails. I have the triggers set for Average and have some triggers reporting these actions.

I am running Zabbix 1.6.2 on Ubuntu

I have Postfix and SSMTP configured on the Ubuntu Server and can send mail through the terminal with no problem.

Is there something that I am missing for it not to be working.

1. - Have you set up your e-mail media types in Administration --> Media types? (See 1st screenshot below)

2. - Have you added the media type to your user under Administration --> Users? Also note what levels you have enabled. I only have HD set for this user. (See 2nd screenshot below)

3. - Have you fully configured the trigger action in Configuration --> Actions?

You've had triggers go off (That you have actions defined for) since you re-configured it?

Go to Administration --> Notifications. Anything there except for zeroes?

Outside of showing you what to configure in my previous message, I don't know what else to tell you. You'll just have to play with the settings until you get it to work.

Nothing but zeros in Go to Administration --> Notifications

I will play with the mail server on Ubuntu to make sure everything is correct.
Wish there was a way to send a test mail through Zabbix.

I was using Nagios before this but it was to much of a hassel to configure. But you were able to at least force a test mail to see if it worked. This is why I went with Zabbix, very easy to configure except this LOL.

I will keep trying,if you can think of anything else please let me know.

You can always try the search feature for these forums. A good keyword to search on would be "notifications".

I finally got the e-mail to work, just some tweaking with SSMTP.
