I'm using zabbix to monitor servers behind firewalls, all of my checks are set to active this is great ALL the data I need is reported to me EXCEPT for "Host status" which I can't run in Active mode.
Since I can't use host status does anyone have a good suggestion on what to put in place to actually monitor of a box behind a firewall goes down.
I figure there is plenty of information being reported that if an agent didn't check in (in active mode) for lets say 10 minutes I can report it as down?
Any suggestions on this.
