Help on setting up and using Zabbix Proxy

Hello, I've read through the entire Zabbix manual and I'm having a hard time understanding how to make use of the Zabbix Proxy.

At 'Site A' I have the Zabbix Server which is running fine monitoring various hosts behind firewalls at Sites B,C, & D. At Site B on the linux firewall, I installed the Zabbix Proxy with necessary dependencies and it appears to be up and running fine. It's my understanding that on the devices being monitored on the LAN at Site B I need to tell them to connect to the proxy instead of the main Zabbix server. This is correct no?

Next, I created a proxy and named it "Site B" on the main zabbix server. I then linked those hosts being monitored at Site B to the proxy named "Site B". Here is where I'm lost. The actual host configuration for proxies does not ask for any ip address or port information so I do not understand how it knows where to find the proxy. Also, when I move the existing monitored hosts to the proxy, do I change the IP address information for that host to be it's actual LAN IP instead of the outside IP of the Site B firewall which was port forwarding in? I just am real confused how it actually knows where the 'Site B' proxy is and how to talk to it.

I guess all in all I find the documentation on how to set up and utilize the proxy configuration is extremely lacking, but maybe it's just me.

    Thanks,
    Elvar

I think I found the problem. I now realize the way it finds the proxy is based on the name of the proxy being exactly the same as the unique hostname field of the proxy configuration on the remote side. I think it's starting to come around now. I'm sure I'll have more questions soon enough but this is definitely progress.

Yep, that's all it was. Things are working great now!
