    Proxy question

Can someone clarify a few questions about proxy versus node.

I like the sounds of proxies, but I also think nodes would also be useful ( especially if the main server goes down, so the nodes can carry on working until the central server comes back.

    - Few quick questions, with Nodes can you configure everything from the master node ( central server )
    - If you have nodes can the master node do all the alerting in terms of the master node doing all the alerting locally from master server ie emails jabber etc.
    - Also can the web front end of the master node be used to show all the other nodes in terms of charts, graphs alerts etc

So basically can screens in our operation centre be used to show all the information from the main server and all the information from the remote nodes, or do I have to use one central server and proxies.

    Cheers

    Simon

I never tried the distributed (nodes) setup (I'm using proxies), but for your questions

especially if the main server goes down, so the nodes can carry on working until the central server comes back
I can tell the proxies behave similarly (if there's a network outage between proxy and master, the proxy buffers all the information and sent it back to the master when the network becomes available).
