Please check the server log zabbix_server.log in /tmp

    If you do ~#/etc/init.d/./zabbix_server start

Do you see any errors and if so let us know in this topic.

      zabbix-server and zabbix-agent to run

Ok Zabbix-server and zabbix-agent are in the /etc/init.d dir but when I stat them they do not start and do not create a log file in /tmp. I was able to start them in the /usr/local/sbin. Why is this? Is it ok doing it this way, and if so how do I get to start everytime I need to reboot.

      Thanks,

      Scott Barnett

If you install zabbix in CentOS, the zabbix_server.log file is in /var/log/zabbix

It all depends on the distro I guess, you can offcourse specify in the zabbix_server.conf where you want the log file and pid file.

sbarnett: check the /var/tmp like jose suggested, or /tmp
