    Can't Get Actions to Work

I can't seem to get zabbix to send out email alerts. Here's how I have an action configured:

The trigger shows up as events in zabbix:

But, no emails are sent out. I think I have the email media type properly configured, but I'm not certain. I don't see any signs in the system maillog that an email is being sent out.

Notice in the Events view the "Message actions" and "Command actions" sections are listed as "No actions found." But, in the Actions configuration, I clearly have "Action operations" defined. What am I missing in my config? Thanks for any tips.

Make sure you have configured you email server - under media types

Also under users for the dns group do you have any email address defined ?

You can check if notification have been sent and by what media in the notification tab, which will list the number sent etc.

What should the email media type configuration look like? For mine both SMTP server and SMTP helo are "localhost." I've tested the smtp server on the zabbix server, and it's able to email out. It's very likely I don't have the email media type properly configured.

Yes, Users have email addresses defined.

Under Administration->Notifications, everything is all zeroes.

Did I perhaps miss a configure option on build? Thanks for your reply.

It appears that the zabbix server simply isn't attempting to send out notifications. I've reconfigured the media type, user emails, and restarted the zabbix server process. It should not be this hard to get email notifications to work...

After reading this post, I tried adding Trigger value = PROBLEM as a second condition and it seems to be working.

However, just for testing, I took the trigger condition out and just left the trigger value:

And that still works. This is confusing as it seems like for the Action to take place, it needs to know which trigger to act on, not just the value of a trigger.
