Why so much zabbix_agentd daemons ?

Hi,
I would like to know why, when I start zabbix-agentd, I have 5 or 6 differents process running ?

It's an entry in the zabbix_agentd.conf file
Allows for more or less simultaneous polls from the server

Every time the Zabbix server connects to the agent it uses one of those threads. The more threads the more queries the agent can respond to at a time. The default of 5 is usually more than enough for most installations.

However, it i strange that in my configuration file I have :
# Number of pre-forked instances of zabbix_agentd,
# which process passive checks.
# Default value is 3.
# This parameter must be between 1 and 16.

StartAgents=3

And when I look how many process are runnig, I see 6 of them.
