Explanation for IT Services and Maps

Hi

I have used Zabbix since 1 year ago and now, at least, the main goals to a complete monitoring are achieved. But there are some points of Zabbix which are less clear for me than others. IT Services and Maps are two examples of that.

Actually I have no idea of the utility of both services. I don't want to lose funcionalities of Zabbix. So will be helfpul for me if someone of you guys explain me a little the main utility of both services.

e.g. I'm using a map for monitoring all the main switches in
our different buildings.
If a host fails the host will show in red and also the link will be red.

You can put a graphic in the background, so that you direct see where the
problem is coming from.

Also I put some documentations, that I mainly did in Powerpoint as a jpg there.
So I have it over the web interface available.
