    Variable check intervals?

    Hello,

I am testing Zabbix 1.6.5 (upgraded from 1.6.4 just a few minutes ago) for my work, but I have something I cannot find in Zabbix. I would like to check a service (for example Apache) every 5 minutes, but if Apache is not running and the trigger is triggered, I would like to have it checked every minute or even more often.

Is this possible in Zabbix and if so, how can I do it?

Thanks in advance for your help

It's possible to customize the frequency depending on the hour of the day... but depending on the state of the service... I haven't seen it.

I've seen it in other monitoring solutions, but not in zabbix... and, in zabbix, items and triggers are 2 independent things, that's why I think it's not currently possible...
If anybody have founded a way to do that, I'm also interested.

Perhaps could it be added in the next version of zabbix ? A new field for a trigger where we can choose one or more items, and for each item, enter a new check frequency used when the trigger is in alert ?

The only way I can think of to do it, and I don't know if I'd recommend it, would be to have an action run a script on the Zabbix server to manually update the database. I'm sure there are many reasons why that isn't such a good idea.

Yes, that's also the only way I've currently found... but as you say, I don't like this method...
