Add New Templates

Hi,

I am new to Zabbix and any monitoring system at that.

I am trying to figure out how to add new templates. The manual states you can import them but up to now I am unable to figure out how to download them from the zabbix template repo.

When i select download it opens up showing xml code. Do i copy and paster, save as an xml file and them import or do i need to do anything specific.

Also how do I add specific snmp checks for our routers etc?

you save the xml file, the use web frontend section configuration -> import/export

or you create one yourself (configuration -> hosts, choose 'templates' from the dropdown)
for any of these cases you can add items with new snmp oids - see manual for more detail
