I now understand the discovery process and the default of adding a server when the Zabbix agent is found, and subsequent linking of a template.
Is there a way for discovery to bypass a server that has already been added? For example, a new windows DC gets added the the "Windows Group" and the Template_Windows is applied. All well and good, except for my domain controllers I differing triggers for things such as disk, memory, etc. I created Template_Windows_DC, modified the items and triggers, and then linked to the host in question.
I also unlinked the Template_Windows and saved. However, during the next discovery cycle, the "add windows server" action re-adds the Template_Windows to the host.
the default for the action is "Discover Status = Up", but would Status = Discover only apply the action the first time a server is seen?
